  2. Do we have sector in the TEVET sector that demands more financing. If at all, please highlight area that needs more funding.

  3. We need also to look at factors that affects the business planning in the lending institutions. As much as we can admit the lack of initial planning but our lending institutions including banks prolong the loan period, from the time one plan's to get the loan rather apply and the time the banks or lending institutions approve the loans. This alone contributes to failure in business, need for improvement

  4. Am Billy Mukwikwi. From Plan International Malawi; Just wanted to comment on protecting lical entrepreneurs on our home based products like the toothpicks cited as an example. I have a living example where one entrepreneur installed toothpick production line. He managed to produce 5 containers of toothpicks following all the required specs. Thereafter, he engaged one of the biggest hotels for a market. Unfortunately, the hotel declined buying the product from him and shamelessly indicated they procure their toothpicks from China. The entrepreneur then engaged the Chinese firm, who managed to buy the product from him and supplied to the hotel. This is pathetic! The private sector has to change its mindset and have confidence that products produced in Malawi are equally very good. Let us support our home industries.
